The Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) has compiled statistics regarding workplace injury and fatality.
Contact with electricity is one of the leading causes of fatalities in the workplace. Each year, ESFI provides statistical data on occupational electrical injuries and fatalities to help decision makers better allocate safety resources to workers. The most recent data covers 2011-2024 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. It was compiled in January of 2026.
