Eligible organizations are invited to learn more and assess their fit for the Zero Electrocution Challenge.

Before submitting an application, participants must complete registration no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Applications will be accepted for approximately three weeks after registration has closed. All applications are due no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

During mid-July and early August, the ZERO 2050 team will review each submission to ensure it complies with application requirements and Rules.

From Tuesday, August 18 to Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 5:00 PM Eastern Time, applicants will score and comment on five other applications from fellow teams using the scoring rubric (scores are normalized for fairness).

Applicants may be required to score and comment on additional applications. Final peer reviews are due by Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 5:00 PM Eastern Time.

Once Peer-to-Peer Review is complete, the Evaluation Panel will score and provide feedback on their assigned submissions using the scoring rubric (scores are normalized for fairness).

Informed by Evaluation Panel results, the ZERO 2050 team will review the top-scoring submissions to select up to five Finalists.

The ZERO 2050 team will conduct on-site visits with up to five Finalists.

Once site visits have concluded, the Selection Committee will recommend up to two Winners who will each receive $1 million.

The Winners will be announced in early 2027.
