John Scotty MacNeill serves as the National Safety Director for the Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA), where he lead national efforts to improve the safety and health of utility workers across the United States. John has more than 36 years of experience in the utility industry and have worked in a variety of roles, including lead mechanic, crane operator, rigger, and UWUA Business Agent representing line clearance workers in both residential and highline sectors.

In John's current role, he oversees the UWUA National Safety Committee and works closely with labor leaders, industry partners, and regulatory agencies to advance safety standards, training programs, and worker protections. He actively participates in national safety organizations and standards committees to help ensure the voices and experiences of utility workers are represented in policies that affect the industry.

John's focus has always been on strengthening peer-to-peer safety programs and promoting a culture where every worker returns home safely at the end of the day.
