Todd Gallaher is the Principal Safety Expert at Southern California Edison, leading enterprise learning from Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) incidents and advancing high energy hazard prevention. With more than 45 years in the utility industry, he is a Mechanical Engineer, former licensed Senior Reactor Operator at a nuclear facility, certified high voltage operator, and FEMA certified Incident Commander and Safety Officer. Todd is a frequent conference speaker on SIF prevention and safety leadership and was part of the team that received the National Safety Council’s 2020 Innovation Award for Safety Predictive Analytics. He serves in national safety leadership roles with the Edison Electric Institute’s OSHA Committee, the North American Transmission Forum, the National Safety Council, and the California Alliance for Safety and Training. His experience spans operations, incident management systems, corrective actions, analytics, compliance, quality assurance, performance improvement, and engineering, with published contributions on SIF criteria, incident learning, operating excellence, and precursor research.
