Randy is an electrical engineer and president of a consulting firm specializing in the architecture and detailed design of electronic products across a wide range of industries. With over 35 years of experience, he has led the development of systems spanning industrial sensing, consumer electronics, and medical devices, including hospital ventilators and PCR-based diagnostic equipment.

As a consultant, he served as the principal electrical engineer for Fitbit during its formative first five years, where he developed the electrical hardware for the company’s first five products. Other notable clients have included Philips Respironics, Square, Pfizer, Emerson, and Google. His work has consistently focused on translating complex technical requirements into reliable, manufacturable solutions.

Randy is an alumnus of Carnegie Mellon University and brings deep technical expertise along with practical product development experience. As a grant application judge, he evaluates proposals with an emphasis on engineering rigor, real-world applicability, and safety-focused design.
