Tom Short has been with EPRI for 25 years. He is currently working on research in the areas of distribution safety, including SIFs, arc flash, grounding, and detection of live downed conductors.

Tom was awarded the 2008 IEEE/PES Award for Excellence in Power Distribution Engineering.

Tom authored the Electric Power Distribution Handbook (CRC Press, 2014, 2ed, and 2004, 1ed) and a supporting website: distributionhandbook.com. He has authored more than 75 papers for conferences and journals.
